About The Position

PayPal, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 3 in San Jose, CA Job Duties: Develop a wallet as a service system in the micro wallet domain through partnerships with architects, cross-functional teams, product teams, and external teams. Engage in high-level designs for the end-to-end flow and low-level design in the areas of interface engineering and real-time wallet transaction processing. Implement the value-added service capability, latency improvement, compliance mandates, and settlement processing. Conduct design and code reviews, continuous integration, production deployment, Business operations and monitoring. Provide internal support to cross-functional teams and products across the microwallet domain. Maintain LIVE products, infrastructure management between PayPal on-premises and its public cloud components, and message security. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • Experience in design and integration with local payment methods (specific to any country) as a payment service provider (4 years).
  • Experience in establishing direct connectivity with Payment processors for processing e-commerce transactions (4 years).
  • Experience in processing settlements between payment processors and payment service providers for e-commerce transactions (4 years).
  • Developing large scale e-commerce applications Java, Spring Core and Spring Batch, with good hands-on exposure to SQL and NoSQL technologies, relational and free form databases, including strong data architecture and SQL/PL-SQL development skills (5 years).
  • Applying advanced object-oriented design and development principles (5 years).
  • Designing and developing data intensive applications and architecting them for scalability and availability (5 years).
  • Developing high traffic backend micro services, with low latency and designing them for scale. Experience applying software design patterns, data structures, algorithms. Good analytical and problem-solving skills (5 years).
  • Collaborating with business users to define the key business requirements and translate them into process/technical solutions (5 years).
  • Strong debugging and problem resolution skills. Focuses on test driven development and automation (5 years).
  • Refactor existing codebase and in understanding existing implementations to decide to refactor or rewrite. Identify Performance bottlenecks and use good coding patterns to avoid them (5 years).
