About The Position

Under moderate direction, this position is responsible for a range of engineering activities in research and advanced development, including the development of new technologies, methods, and pipeline in accordance with the overall business direction. Documents research and development findings to provide to senior engineers and/or management. May provide guidance and on-the-job training to less experienced colleagues.

Requirements

2-5+ years of relevant experience required(Preferred internship or working experience in Automotive Industry).
MS or PhD in Computer Science, or related field
Familiar with Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Robotics, or other relevant areas
Excellent software engineering skills in Python and/or C++
Familiarity with CUDA, OpenCL, ROS and ROS2
Familiarity with LiDAR, Camera, Radar and other components for automated driving
Comfortable with Linux and other Unix-based environments
Relevant industry experience (prior experience in automated driving or robotics projects)
Demonstrated knowledge and application of general engineering principles and methodologies
Analytical skills to handle reasonably complex situations from both the micro and macro level perspective. Uses professionally recognized techniques when standard protocols are not available; must be practically applied in innovative ways. Must rely on judgment to gather information from and follow-up with various outside sources; considers broad range of issues/factors. Recommends creative resolutions and improvements.
Written and verbal communication skills to interpret and/or discuss technical or sensitive information with internal and external customers. Discretion in deciding what and how to communicate. Oral presentation skills to maximize the impact of thoughts transmitted
Negotiation skills to resolve fundamental situations/issues, which may be potentially conflict in nature, while making point firmly and seeking a positive outcome for both sides.

Nice To Haves

Strong track record in any field related to machine learning, robotics, computer vision as evidenced by authored publications
Examples of relevant fields and conferences: e.g., CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, IJCV, ICML, NeurIPS, JMLR, PAMI, RSS, IJRR, ICRA, IROS.
Experience with cloud machine learning training pipelines

Responsibilities

Contributes to scientific research, development, and testing of new concepts, technologies, applications, products, and processes.
Research and develop state-of-the art machine learning models and pipeline to enhance our automated driving solutions.
Design, prototype and evaluate machine learning / computer vision algorithms for automated driving solutions.
Work closely with our hardware teams to integrate entire systems into a test vehicle.
Develop verification and validation test plans and demonstrate.
Prepare and present technical reports for senior engineers and/or management.
Develops and defines test strategies and plans with under supervision of senior engineer and or manager.
Conducts market research and benchmarking where appropriate for use at Technical Reviews. Performs patent searches, creates and submits new patent requests, conducts research and reviews existing patents. Stays abreast of worldwide technical trends, initiates and recommends improvements to process and/or tools where necessary.
Analyzes current processes, systems and equipment and recommends and implements improvements. Recommends whether or not proposed changes or improvements be implemented.
Acts as a mentor to less experienced engineers.
Performs other duties as assigned.
