The Software Engineer designs, develops, tests, deploys, documents, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems based upon documented requirements. These systems might include, but are not limited to, processing intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, business management information systems, and systems which incorporate data repositories, data transport services, and application and systems development and monitoring. The role involves working individually or as part of a team, reviewing and testing software components, resolving software problem reports, and utilizing appropriate software development and design methodologies. The Software Engineer provides specific input to the software components of system design, including hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, and requirements analysis. The position requires experience developing in Unix, shell scripting, and working knowledge of Configuration Management (CM) tools and Web Services implementation. The Software Engineer will collaborate with Product Owners, System Engineers, and project Software Engineers to develop and implement user interface components for a mission-focused enterprise web application in a Linux environment. United States Citizenship and a position-appropriate security clearance (e.g., Active TS/SCI security clearance with agency appropriate polygraph) are required due to federal contract requirements.
