About The Position

The Software Engineer 2 position at Juniper Networks focuses on developing and executing functional test plans for networking and IP services products. Requirements

• M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 1-5 years of experience as a test engineer for networking and IP services related products.

Nice To Haves

• Strong proficiency in testing high-speed interfaces and aggregated Ethernet.
• Experience with L2/L3 forwarding, QoS, firewall, and load balancing.
• Knowledge of routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, multicast, MPLS, RSVP, L2VPN, L3VPN, VPLS.
• Experience performing platform qualification tests on new hardware products.
• Automation skills in Python or Go language.
• Knowledge in OpenConfig, telemetry, Ondatra, and P4RT/SDN controller.
• Experience with test equipment/traffic generators like Ixia or Spirent.
• Outstanding problem-solving skills in diagnosing and resolving customer issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-starter, proactive, and able to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Experience in various test methodologies including white box, black box, and solution testing.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with product marketing and software/hardware development teams to review design specifications.
• Develop functional test plans for review.
• Execute test cases and report issues in the bug tracking system.
• Debug issues with development teams for resolution.
• Automate test cases and integrate automated scripts for regression testing.
