  • Build robust and scalable software and improve eBay's code services and system architecture.
  • Work with the product and design teams to understand end-user requirements, formulate use cases, and deliver results.
  • Build new experiences, improve existing software products, and develop distributed systems.
  • Estimate engineering efforts, prioritize projects, plan implementations, and triage production issues.
  • Design, develop, and deploy high-performing, reliable software solutions for high-throughput, distributed systems using a variety of third-party and eBay internal libraries and frameworks.
  • Build and implement software features utilizing tools including JIRA, Git, CICD, and other internal eBay tools.
  • Test, triage, bug fix, and create technical documentation for iteration in an Agile environment.
  • Gather and analyze user data and product business data to design and develop product/features and identify and monitor data metrics that directly impact eBay product performance.
  • Collaborate with peers, Architects, Product Managers, Business Analysts, Quality Engineers, and Operations teams to develop innovative software solutions that meet market needs.
  • Participate in technical design and code reviews and provide feedback to other engineers on the team.
  • Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related field plus three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • Knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience with software architecture and design patterns.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented development.
  • Experience with distributed systems.
  • Knowledge of software testing and verification.
  • Proficiency in Java, Python, and Spring Framework.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases/SQL such as Oracle.
  • Experience with RESTful web services, JSON, XML, and frontend development using Node.js, HTML, and CSS.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and Continuous Integration/Development.
  • Experience with Linux.
