About The Position

In this role, you will help ensure that product features are correctly instrumented, that telemetry follows established standards, and that key product scenarios are validated through automation. You'll review code and event logging, build or extend lightweight testing/validation tools, and query stored telemetry to confirm data quality. You will also partner with senior/technical stakeholders to understand data requirements and support database/ETL changes needed for analytics and reporting. This is a good fit for someone early in their career who can code, likes working with logs/data, and is comfortable troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 0-2 years of hands-on experience working with software, data, or test/automation in a technical environment.
  • Ability to read and write code in at least one of: JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, Java, or Python.
  • Experience querying data using SQL (or willingness to learn an internal query language with a similar model).
  • Understanding of basic ETL / data movement concepts (sources, transforms, targets).
  • Comfort working with application logs / telemetry and using them to troubleshoot issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to walk through recent projects.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience validating telemetry/event schemas or working in environments where logging standards are enforced.
  • Experience with test automation or feature/UI testing frameworks.
  • Experience with a second language (e.g., both JS/TS and Python, or C# plus scripting).
  • Familiarity with working in large-scale or cloud-based environments (storage, queues, containers, or big-data query engines).
  • Experience documenting SOPs, validation steps, or runbooks for other engineers/testers.
  • Comfort working with productivity tools (email, spreadsheets, presentation tools) to report findings and track issues.

Responsibilities

  • Review product code and event instrumentation to ensure telemetry/compliance standards are followed.
  • Build, enhance, and run automation or feature/UI test scripts (ideally in JavaScript/TypeScript/Python/C#) to validate product scenarios.
  • Query application logs/telemetry/data in storage using SQL (and similar query tools) to verify that events are flowing and shaped correctly.
  • Work with technical leads and business stakeholders to clarify data requirements and translate them into database/table changes.
  • Support design, implementation, and maintenance of ETL/data-loading processes for larger analytics scenarios.
  • Document test procedures, telemetry requirements, and standard operating practices.
  • Participate in a technical/skills assessment and be ready to walk through recent projects, debugging steps, and problem-solving approaches.
  • Troubleshoot defects in telemetry or data pipelines and propose fixes or automation to prevent recurrence.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Flexible Spending Account
  • 401k program
  • Competitive PTO offerings
  • Parental Leave
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development
