About The Position

Aldridge is seeking an experienced and dedicated Development Manager to lead our talented team of software engineers. This individual will be a hands-on leader, responsible for the oversight, maintenance, and enhancement of our critical business applications built on a React and Microsoft SQL Server stack. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and development of their team. This candidate will also spearhead the strategic use of our integration (Workato) and low-code (Mendix) platforms to drive efficiency and innovation across the organization. Requirements

  • Proven experience (3+ years) in a software development leadership or management role, with a strong track record of successfully managing and mentoring engineering teams.
  • Deep technical expertise in the following is preferred: React/Mendix, N8N, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience with low-code development platforms and IPAAS (Integration Platform as a Service) strongly preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in construction of related industry preferred.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of application engineers, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing culture.
  • Conduct regular check-ins and professional development planning for all team members.
  • Provide technical guidance, architectural oversight, and hands-on support to the development team.
  • Oversee the complete development lifecycle (design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance) of our existing React-based applications.
  • Ensure the stability, performance, and security of our Microsoft SQL backend.
  • Manage backlog grooming, sprint planning, and resource allocation to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Establish and enforce development best practices, coding standards, and deployment processes.
  • Lead the governance and strategic implementation of our IPAAS solution (Workato) to build robust, scalable integrations.
  • Champion our low-code platform (Mendix), identifying opportunities to rapidly deliver business value and empowering the team to build effectively.
  • Partner with business leaders and teams to understand application requirements, prioritize initiatives, and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with IT leadership and business units on project status, risks, and strategies.
