About The Position

Peraton is seeking a Software Development Manager to support an Intelligence Community customer in the Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area. Location: Herndon, VA Responsibilities: Plans, directs, and coordinates all activities associated with creating software across multiple functional areas and products. Prioritizes and allocates projects, products, and resources with the assistance of architects and managers. Participates in the strategic decisions about technology, definition, and implementation of the software products. Makes employment decisions, such as hiring, rewarding. Determines candidates for employment/termination, conducts performance evaluations and salary reviews for assigned staff and is responsible for the application of company policies. Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of a multi-team or cross-functional organization. Directs software development projects to include, ensuring that projects are completed on time and according to quality standards, facilitating communication upward and across project team including project status, justifications for variances and technical information. Organizes projects through development of a project plan which includes communication of product goals as defined by top management, definition of project strategy, identification of the roles and responsibilities of key project groups, development of a schedule with key milestones, identification of risks, contingency plans and allocation of project resources. Monitors technology trends such as emerging standards for new technology opportunities.

Requirements

  • Active (currently in use) TS/SCI clearance with polygraph or ability to successfully pass a polygraph
  • Bachelor’s degree in an area applicable to the position with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, with at least 4 of those years in a supervisory capacity
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to relay technical information to customers and laypersons
  • Full-stack software development experience
  • Programming Language Experience including – but not limited to – Java, Python (Poetry, Flask, etc.) and JavaScript (emphasis on React ecosystem libraries)
  • Experience with AWS technologies: Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, EC2, S3, DynamoDB, DocumentDB
  • Experience using modern techniques such as REST, JSON, Spring, Spring Boot, JavaScript frameworks (e.g., JQuery, Angular, React), and Docker
  • Experience using Git, Jenkins, Confluence

  • Intelligence Collection Management functional domain and application knowledge and experience
  • Experience within the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA)
