About The Position

The Software Development Manager will lead and inspire engineering teams responsible for a high-impact e-commerce platform. This role offers the opportunity to drive technical strategy, ensure reliable delivery of scalable software, and foster a strong engineering culture. Requirements

  • 5–8+ years of engineering experience, including at least 2+ years leading software development teams in a modern web stack environment.
  • Technical expertise in Node.js, React, cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred; AWS/Azure transferrable), and GraphQL or similar real-time API frameworks.
  • Experience with Agile teams, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, CircleCI), and delivery practices including code review, test automation, and observability.
  • Strong strategic problem-solving, communication, and facilitation skills, able to bridge technical and product discussions.
  • Proven ability to manage complex priorities, navigate ambiguity, and make decisive, ownership-driven decisions under pressure.
  • Familiarity with secure coding principles and PCI compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop software engineering teams, setting clear expectations, providing feedback, and driving career growth.
  • Ensure predictable, high-quality delivery by managing sprint cadence, backlog health, and cross-team dependencies.
  • Translate business objectives into executable technical plans in collaboration with Product, DevOps, QA, and Architecture teams.
  • Drive platform improvements in scalability, security, reliability, and performance.
  • Establish rhythm and accountability across teams, remove blockers, clarify priorities, and balance capacity against competing demands.
  • Advance development processes, including CI/CD, observability, code quality, and documentation, to strengthen delivery discipline.
  • Foster a culture of mentorship, collaboration, and cross-team communication to build a high-performing engineering organization.
  • Conduct performance management, feedback, and development planning to cultivate talent and future engineering leaders.
