About The Position

We are seeking a leader for our Client Edge Services team which is responsible for to simplifying, accelerating, and scaling the delivery of customer experiences through client edge experiments and launched features. The leader needs to be operationally and technically deep, understand the customer experience, and who is equally at ease at driving excellence in process design as in technical solutions and product definition. The candidate needs to be proven at leading teams with influence over large engineering teams in and outside their organization. As the leader of the team, you'll be at the forefront of Prime Video's technical infrastructure, driving innovations that directly impact millions of customers worldwide.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience
  • 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
  • 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of talented software engineers building mission-critical services at Prime Video
  • Drive strategic and architectural decisions that balance performance, scalability, across Prime Video
  • Partner across Prime Video to gather requirements and influence direction
  • Ensure operational excellence of systems handling large-scale, high blast-radius systems
  • Develop and execute on technical roadmaps aligned with Prime Video's growth initiatives
  • Foster a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement
