Software Development Intern – Summer 2026

Parsons CorporationWestminster, CO
1d$22 - $38

About The Position

Parsons is now accepting applications for our Summer 2026 Software Engineering Internship, supporting development of a new AI-enabled infrastructure inspection platform supporting development of a new AI-enabled bridge inspection capability using drone data, 360° video, localization, and voice to transform how bridge and vertical structure inspections are captured and reported. This program offers an exciting opportunity to build end-to-end software that connects sensors, AI services, and simple UIs for engineers. You will help design and implement the inspection data pipeline, integrate speech-to-text and localization outputs, and build a lightweight review tool that turns raw data into a structured defect table and draft findings.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field at an accredited college or university.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript, with solid software engineering fundamentals.
  • Experience building small web or desktop applications (e.g., React, Vue, Flask/FastAPI, Electron, or similar).
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and handling media (video, images).
  • Basic experience with databases and data modeling (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQLite, or NoSQL).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • A GPA of 3.0 or higher is desirable.
  • Prior internship or project experience in full-stack or data-heavy applications is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement the core inspection data pipeline to ingest 360° video, localization outputs, and voice-tagged defect events.
  • Integrate a speech-to-text API to support “new defect” voice triggers and short spoken descriptions.
  • Develop a simple web or desktop UI to review inspector paths and visualize defect points on a 2D/3D bridge representation.
  • Implement generation of a structured defect list and a basic draft findings export (e.g., CSV plus Word/Markdown/PDF template).
  • Collaborate closely with the Computer Vision/Robotics intern and mentor to integrate perception outputs into a usable tool for engineers.
