Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska (BCBSNE) is seeking a Software Development Intern for the Summer of 2025. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work in a partially remote environment, with three days on-site at our Omaha office located in Aksarben Village and two days of remote work. The internship will run from June 2, 2025, to August 1, 2025, and candidates must reside within commuting distance during this period. As a Software Development Intern, you will be part of a dynamic team that is dedicated to optimizing business processes and enhancing customer experiences through innovative technology solutions. In this role, you will engage in various aspects of software development, including coding, testing, and maintaining software applications. You will collaborate closely with a team of developers, project managers, and stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure that the software aligns with desired outcomes. The internship will also provide you with opportunities to participate in training sessions and workshops aimed at enhancing your technical skills and understanding of software development practices. You will be involved in agile ceremonies, such as daily stand-ups and sprint planning, to foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team. Additionally, you will have the chance to enhance your problem-solving skills by tackling technical challenges and participating in code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to coding standards. The internship will culminate in a capstone project, where you will apply your learning to create efficiencies through automation or gather customer feedback to improve user experience in our customer portals.
