About your role: As a Software Development Engineering - Advisor I (DevOps Engineer) on the CommerceHub platform team, you will design, build, and support the automation, tooling, and infrastructure that enable continuous delivery at scale. You will partner closely with product engineers, quality engineers, and platform teams to improve developer productivity, reliability, and observability for CommerceHub services that support our clients’ commerce experiences.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps engineering, or platform engineering, including ownership of production infrastructure and deployment automation.
  • 3+ years of recent, hands-on experience implementing and supporting DevOps automation and CI/CD frameworks using tools such as Jenkins, Docker, Git, Maven, GitLab Pipelines, Bitbucket, Concourse Pipelines, and Nexus in an enterprise environment.
  • 3+ years of experience with programming in at least one language such as Java, Scala, Python, or Go, including building or integrating automation, tooling, or platform services.
  • 3+ years of experience with scripting in one or more languages such as Unix shell, Perl, or Python to automate build, deployment, configuration, and monitoring tasks.
  • 3+ years of experience with containerization and container management solutions (for example, Docker, Kubernetes, or similar) in support of microservices or distributed systems.
  • 2+ years of experience working with cloud computing, Platform as a Service (PaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), or related technologies to design and operate scalable environments.
  • 2+ years of experience configuring and using monitoring, logging, and observability tools such as the Elastic stack (ELK), AppDynamics, Splunk, or similar solutions to support production operations.
  • Experience working in Agile Scrum teams, including participation in planning, code reviews, continuous improvement, and cross-team collaboration.
  • 1+ years of Fiserv systems experience.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of prior software engineering or consulting experience in complex, distributed systems environments.
  • Experience in the payments or financial services industry, including familiarity with security, reliability, and regulatory expectations.
  • Experience with security automation or DevSecOps practices, such as integrating security scanning and compliance checks into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Professional certifications in cloud, DevOps, or related areas (for example, AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, or DevOps-focused certifications) or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert, championing automation, reliability, and observability across the CommerceHub platform.
  • Design, implement, and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Git, Maven, GitLab Pipelines, Bitbucket, Concourse, Docker, and Nexus.
  • Ensure continuous availability and performance of source control, build, artifact, and release management tooling that support software configuration management (SCM) and deployment.
  • Design, implement, and operate production infrastructure, including build, deploy, and monitoring systems that support high availability and resilience.
  • Collaborate with co-located, cross-functional Scrum teams to design and implement scalable solutions that increase developer productivity, enable environment monitoring and self-healing, and support autonomous delivery teams.
  • Support, troubleshoot, and analyze issues across infrastructure, middleware, and CI/CD frameworks, including code-level analysis where needed.
  • Plan and execute production releases, including implementation planning, deployment execution, and proactive maintenance to keep services healthy and compliant with change management processes.
  • Onboard teams to CI/CD and SCM tooling, including developing documentation, runbooks, and knowledge-sharing sessions to drive self-service adoption.
