About The Position

The Software Development Engineer at Amazon Custom is responsible for innovating and enhancing the online shopping experience through configurable and customizable products. This role involves taking ownership of the software development lifecycle, leading projects, and ensuring operational excellence in a scalable, high-performance system. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

Requirements

• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 1+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
• Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle
• 2+ years of programming using a modern programming language such as Java, C++, or C#
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Nice To Haves

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
• Experience with JavaScript
• Middleware concepts including SOA and dependency injection
• AWS technologies including serverless architecture
• Software development methodologies including Agile and/or Scrum.

Responsibilities

• Operate full-stack, across front-end and back-end codebases
• Own interfaces between the distinct phases of the product purchasing pipeline
• Lead the software development lifecycle on one or multiple simultaneous projects
• Enter a periodic on-call rotation to address live-site issues
• Continually improve the operational excellence of the software, and the efficiency of the processes and mechanisms used by the team.
