About The Position

Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network, aiming to deliver fast, reliable internet globally to a wide range of customers. Amazon Leo is seeking a Software Development Engineer to build and maintain their Manufacturing Execution System, which is crucial for scalability and cost-effective business operations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, start-up-like environment, demonstrating high motivation, detail orientation, and excellent execution standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 3+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• U.S. Citizen in order to comply with U.S. government-imposed requirements related to the nature of the work and/or where it will be performed

Nice To Haves

• 6+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

Responsibilities

• Utilize AWS and other Amazon technologies to build highly-available software services.
• Design and develop performant systems that meet the mission criteria and requirements.
• Help on-board and mentor new team members.
• Conduct defect analysis and perform necessary fixes and improvements.
• Collaborate with functional owners, architects and other personnel to develop dynamic and flexible systems to meet the emerging demands of internal customers in manufacturing.
• Review program codes and correct program errors.
• Maintain and update existing program codes as needed.
• Develop technical specification and estimations for assigned project.
• Work in compliance with the programming and documentation standards and solve production problems in a timely manner.
