We are looking for a Software Development Engineer to join the Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP team. Launched at Re:Invent in November 2021, Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP is a fast-growing AWS service that makes it easy for customers to launch and run fully managed NetApp ONTAP file systems in the cloud. With Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP, in just minutes you can provision a high-performance, feature-rich file system that delivers multi-protocol access (NFS, SMB, and iSCSI), built-in data compression and deduplication, seamless snapshots and replication, and sub-millisecond latencies. As a Software Development Engineer, you will design and build transformative new customer experiences on Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP. Utility Computing (UC) AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Understanding of and experience with operating systems and file/storage technologies
  • Understanding of and experience with operating systems and file/storage technologies

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring products and services to market.
  • Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the industry.
  • Dive deep into technical challenges at the OS, storage, and networking layers.
  • Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.
  • Lead and mentor engineers, contribute to a fun and inclusive work environment.
