backbone of Copilot-style experiences, seamlessly combining large language models with enterprise data to deliver rich, grounded user experiences.
Within Core AI, the Azure AI Search team delivers high-scale, enterprise-grade search and retrieval capabilities used by applications across industries. We integrate Microsoft AI for content understanding, relevance, and performance, enabling everything from traditional search to state-of-the-art retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). Our team is at the forefront of this transformation, building the next generation of retrieval systems that sit at the center of Microsoft’s AI platform strategy.

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team at a pivotal moment. This role offers a unique opportunity to own and shape critical features of a globally distributed Azure service that is central to the AI innovation wave. You will work on core service infrastructure that directly impacts developers and customers building AI-powered applications at scale. This is a role for engineers who thrive on technically deep problems, value high engineering standards, and want to see their work used broadly across the Microsoft ecosystem. Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Work with a passionate team of engineers to deliver success for customers
• Design, implement, test, ship, and support large scale services and components powering Azure AI Search experiences with industry leading quality, performance, scalability, reliability, and security
• Collaborate with Product managers on product specifications and requirements
