About The Position

Being a member of IT CSS Equities Delivery team, the Software Development Engineer In Test (SDET) role encompasses automation development and execution, functional, and non-functional testing. The SDET role specializes in the design, development, execution, and maintenance of automated tests to ensure the quality of software products. Partners with team members to understand software requirements and execute automated tests that validate the functionality while considering privacy and security requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred and/or equivalent experience]
  • Hands On experience with test automation frameworks and tools, such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, etc. as well as CI/CD technologies (e.g. Cloudbees, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Cucumber, Git, JUnit, Jira etc.).
  • Extensive experience with testing modern scripting language-based components. Strong experience with automated testing and test-driven development
  • Detailed understanding of smoke testing, functional, and non-black box testing, as well as regression testing
  • Knowledge of software testing methodologies and techniques, including unit testing, integration testing, and functional testing
  • Expert and hands on with backend test automation using Rest Assured/Karate for API testing. JDBC/JPA for database testing (Oracle/ DB2/ Snowflake).
  • Experience in Software Development
  • Proficiency in programming language (Java & Python)
  • Knowledge of Databases and SQL preferred.
  • Experience in writing sophisticated SQL queries.
  • Experienced in Agile/Waterfall, onsite/offshore work model and coordination.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Apply different software development and testing methodologies, tools, and technologies
  • Develop, execute, and maintain automated tests across the delivery lifecycle
  • Maintain traceability from user stories through test cases to automated scripts
  • Identify dependencies for environmental and data requirements.
  • Develop applications and construct unit test cases that ensure compliance with functional requirements
  • Follow design and code standards, contributing to continuous improvement discussions
  • Align risk and control processes into day-to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately
  • Create and maintain system documentation
  • Support senior team members to implement solutions using software delivery best practices
  • Work with peers to mature ways of working, contributing to continuous testing within the software delivery processes and integrate automated test with CI/CD pipeline
  • Partner with team members to understand software requirements and design automated tests that validate the functionality
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams on development, testing, troubleshooting, and improve overall software quality
  • Aligns risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately
