About The Position

As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you’ll play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of the platforms that power Best Buy’s advertising and monetization capabilities. You’ll design and implement automated tests that help us deliver software with confidence and speed. If you love building reusable automation and working in a collaborative Agile environment, this role is for you. This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days at our corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota, and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process. What you’ll do Automate test cases for UI, API, and integration scenarios Build and maintain regression test suites for RMN releases Design and manage reusable mock data for automated testing Participate in Agile ceremonies like sprint planning and stand-ups Collaborate with developers and product owners on acceptance criteria Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation

Requirements

  • 3 years of relevant automation experience with a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience
  • 1 year of experience with QA fundamentals, including test case design and debugging
  • 1 year of hands-on automation experience with Playwright
  • 6 months of TypeScript experience
  • Strong communication and coordination skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like and GitHub Actions
  • Experience with Git branching, Docker, and Rancher
  • Experience with Adobe AEM, Workfront, and Retail Media Networks
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools and practices
  • Experience with Tosca or other intelligent automation platforms
  • Familiarity with test management tools like qTest or TestRail
