About The Position

The Software Development Engineer in Test IV is a recognized technical leader and innovator with a broad, strategic influence on quality across the entire DAT Engineering organization. They operate with a high degree of autonomy, tackling the most complex and ambiguous quality challenges. Their work sets the technical vision for testing and quality and directly contributes to DAT's long-term engineering and business objectives. You are a key voice in architectural decisions and a mentor to senior technical contributors across the organization.

Requirements

  • Exhibited testing leadership in both technology and process
  • Execution experience on a long term strategy for large engineering organizations
  • Ability to influence the advise product owners and principal engineers on complex data driven decisions
  • Expert analytics skills
  • Real world expertise with AWS cloud infrastructure and microservice architectures
  • Expert understanding of CI/CD processes and how to leverage them for testing
  • Exceptional problem solving, with a track record of providing solutions for ambiguous, high-impact challenges.
  • 12+ years of experience on a professional software team

Responsibilities

  • Own the long-term vision and strategy for software quality and test engineering at DAT, aligned with company goals.
  • Research, prototype, and champion new testing technologies, methodologies, and industry best practices to solve critical business and technical problems.
  • Partner with Principal Engineers and Architects to make quality, testability, and reliability first-class concerns in all architectural and system design decisions.
  • Partner with Product to ensure we consider every angle and build the right thing.
  • Lead resolution of complex, systemic quality issues that span services, teams, and technology stacks.
  • Mentor and develop engineers and testers, acting as a force multiplier that raises the technical bar across the organization.
