EmpiRx Health is in unprecedented growth, and we're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Development Engineer in Test II. In this critical role, The Software Development Engineer in Test II (SDET II) is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of EmpiRx Health’s enterprise applications, including AI-enabled healthcare platforms, APIs, microservices, and customer-facing portals. This role designs, develops, and executes automated and manual tests to validate functional correctness, integration reliability, and end-to-end system behavior. The SDET II collaborates closely with Software Engineers, DevOps, Product Owners, and Business Analysts to implement scalable testing strategies aligned with business requirements, regulatory compliance, and modern CI/CD practices. This position contributes to continuous improvement by supporting automation coverage, debugging test failures, and strengthening quality practices across the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business, or related field OR 6+ years of equivalent professional experience.
  • 1–4 years of experience in Software Testing or Quality Engineering with hands-on test automation experience.
  • Experience developing and executing Functional, Regression, Integration, API, and UI automated tests using tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, RestSharp, Rest Assured, or similar frameworks.
  • Proficiency with test frameworks such as NUnit, TestNG, XUnit, JUnit, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with Object-Oriented Programming languages (C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript) for test automation.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) for data validation.
  • Understanding of CI/CD systems and automated deployment workflows (Azure DevOps preferred).
  • Knowledge of SDLC concepts, testing methodologies, and debugging practices.
  • Strong problem-solving, accountability, time-management, and collaboration skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with ability to work independently on well-defined tasks

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Healthcare, Pharmacy, or PBM domains.
  • Knowledge of Medicare Part D, CMS regulations, and healthcare compliance standards.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute automated test cases for features, services, and platform components across API, service, and UI layers.
  • Apply the Test Automation Pyramid and Shift-Left testing principles to ensure efficient and early validation of software changes.
  • Maintain and enhance regression automation suites to support continuous validation within sprint cycles.
  • Develop and execute manual tests for exploratory testing and non-regressionable or edge-case scenarios.
  • Validate functional workflows, data flows, and API integrations across enterprise and PBM systems.
  • Validate data integrity, schema evolution, and transactional behavior in relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
  • Debug automated test failures and contribute to root cause analysis, driving corrective actions and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to HIPAA, PHI, PII, and security compliance standards within all testing activities.
  • Support testing aligned with healthcare, PBM workflows, and CMS compliance basics.
  • Collaborate with Platform and DevOps teams to integrate automated quality gates into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or similar).
  • Serve as liaison between engineering teams and business stakeholders during test planning and execution.
  • Translate business requirements and functional/technical specifications into effective Test Strategies and Automated Test Cases.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional partners to ensure testing aligns with business needs, compliance requirements, and delivery timelines
