About The Position

The R&D Data Access team is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (Emerging Career) who will work on designing, building and supporting scalable automated test frameworks, tools, and test suites to ensure quality within expected timelines during the development cycle. As a Software Development Engineer in Test (Emerging Careers), you will:

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience writing software applications, testing software, and/or general programming.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, Go, Rust or C/C++.
  • Demonstrated ability to author, maintain and execute tests as part of a test automation framework.
  • Working experience with CI/CD tooling and public cloud interfaces.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and change direction quickly.
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

  • Communication: Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Technology Savvy: Stay current with emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices, applying this knowledge to strengthen our platforms
  • Collaboration: Ability to work independently as part of a team while mentoring younger team members
  • Knowledge of SQL to query, analyze, and manipulate data across relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server).
  • Knowledge of SAS products, solutions, and programming language.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain high quality set of test automation using modern development techniques and provides key data points to support metrics-based decision making.
  • Apply automated tests both inside and outside of the continuous delivery pipeline.
  • Work with team to promptly triage test failures with precision and accuracy, maintaining the health of the build pipeline.
  • Work collaboratively with development, product, operations, and support peers to encourage quality, as a key design element in all work efforts.
  • Engage in code reviews for product, test, and infrastructure code.
  • Protect users from escaped defects, participate in support escalations, and value Customer Experience (CX) above all.
  • Understand the role of deployment, migration, security, and performance in the continuous delivery lifecycle.
  • Practice effective techniques for deploying and operating SAS software in a multi-cloud environment.
