About The Position

The Software Development Engineer II at Zappos will be a key player in the Zappos at Work (ZAW) team, responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality features and applications that enhance the ZAW program. This role requires a strong background in web development technologies and eCommerce platforms, focusing on creating exceptional experiences for both B2B clients and their employees.

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience as a software engineer with a strong track record in enterprise-grade applications.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and DynamoDB.
  • Experience with DevOps tools and practices like CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Solid understanding of software development principles and design patterns.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Developer).

Responsibilities

  • Plan, scope, and develop features and applications for the ZAW program, including new site experiences for B2B and B2C.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver software solutions that meet business needs.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers.
  • Utilize cloud services like AWS and Azure to architect and manage scalable solutions.
  • Optimize application performance and implement effective solutions for identified bottlenecks.
  • Ensure code quality through reviews, automated testing, and best practices.
  • Stay current with industry trends and enhance the development process.
  • Communicate effectively and influence decisions that align with technology strategy.
