About The Position

The Software Development Engineer for HyperPlane at AWS Elastic Load Balancing/EC2 Networking will play a critical role in delivering a distributed Network Function Virtualization (NFV) platform. This position involves working on customer-facing services and internal AWS services, contributing to the team culture, mentoring junior engineers, and delivering on the product roadmap. The ideal candidate will be passionate about cloud computing and building resilient, scalable, and high-performance distributed services, while maintaining a strong focus on operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Nice To Haves

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, high-performance software solutions for AWS services and infrastructure.
• Lead technical aspects of medium to large-scale projects, including architecture design and code reviews.
• Collaborate with product managers and other teams to define and refine product requirements and technical specifications.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to improving team processes and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environments.
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 reliability of AWS services.
