Emphasis on hardware and system bring-up, drivers, network stack and support of other teams interacting within a Wireless SoC group. Work closely with product SW team to provide system-level API and firmware functionality to meet product requirements. Work closely with product test and protocol stack teams to resolve any issues arising as part of the product and interoperability testing. Implement new product features as part of the development of wireless protocol stacks, device drivers, and diagnostics. Provide support to the SoC design team and assists internal SW/HW integration and initial chip and product bring-up efforts. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $159,744 - $220,900/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • 1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required: Developing embedded firmware running on ARM CPUs using C and assembly languages.
  • Utilizing real-time operating systems (RTOS) services including signaling and locking mechanisms to design and develop robust firmware in a concurrent, multi-processor system.
  • Developing low-level device drivers for peripherals including SMB, I2C, CAN, UART, and GPIO.
  • Developing firmware in a resource constrained system with limited memory and hard real time requirements.
  • Developing firmware in a bare metal environment.
  • Utilizing debuggers including GDB/GNU debug embedded firmware.
