About The Position

Amazon Web Services is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to join the EC2 VPC team in Herndon, VA. This role focuses on developing core software that supports AWS cloud infrastructure, particularly in network virtualization. The position involves engaging in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, from feature definition to testing, while ensuring high-quality software delivery and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Nice To Haves

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Knowledge of best practices for full software development life cycle.
• Experience building complex software systems delivered to customers.
• Experience contributing to the architecture and design of systems.

Responsibilities

• Establish technical direction and foster team culture.
• Grow junior engineers through mentorship and code reviews.
• Deliver exciting features to internal and external customers.
