Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. We are seeking a Software Development Engineer with a focus on developing complex RADAR systems in C/C++. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating high-performance applications and will be involved in all stages of the software development lifecycle. You will work onsite in Pelham, New Hampshire as part of the Patriot RADAR Software Team. This position can sit in Pelham NH or Tewksbury MA.

  • Participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of real-time embedded software, application software, and tools, to include development of the new SW work products and enhancement of existing applications and systems to meet program needs.
  • Design, code, test, integrate, and document software solutions.
  • Participate in internal review of software components and systems.
  • Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products.
  • This position requires onsite presence and extensive interaction with other groups including Systems Design engineering, System Integration and Test, Hardware design Engineering, and the Software Development Team.
  • Local travel between Raytheon sites in Tewksbury, MA, Andover, MA, and Pelham, NH.
  • Occasional travel to White Sands Missile Range (El Paso, Tx) may be required.
  • Off hours testing (2nd or 3rd shift) occasionally may also be required.
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics and minimum 2 years of experience.
  • Experience with C, C++, Java or similar higher level programming language.
  • Experience in a Unix/Linux operating system.
  • Experience in Digital Signal Processing Design.
  • The ability to obtain an interim secret U.S. security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Experience with data structures, algorithms, and software design principles, particularly in high-concurrency and distributed systems.
  • Experience in embedded systems, real-time systems, or large-scale applications.
  • Experience with multithreading, memory management, and performance optimization in complex environments.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git/Clearcase).
  • Experience with software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).
