About The Position

The Virtual Arkansas Agentic Designer independently scripts, designs, and develops high-quality digital curriculum content while strategically using AI tools to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and creativity. This role blends the responsibilities of a Content Designer and Content Developer, providing end-to-end ownership of course creation. The Agentic Designer ensures all content meets Virtual Arkansas standards for accessibility, mastery learning, copyright compliance, and branding.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and customer service skills
  • Proficiency in using digital tools, LMS environments, and AI-assisted design platforms
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Efficient time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new and emerging technologies, including AI systems
  • Ability to evaluate and refine AI-generated content
  • Bachelor's degree (minimum); Master's degree desired
  • Teacher Licensure for the requested content area and grade level

Nice To Haves

  • Three years of blended/online teaching experience is desired
  • Online course development and design experience is desired
  • Demonstrates high-quality verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates creative writing and research abilities
  • Experience with AI tools for content creation, planning, or development preferred (training provided)

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with specialists, agencies, and developers in a phased approach for producing quality digital curriculum content appropriate to the assigned course according to state content standards or other applicable content standards
  • Use AI tools to generate, refine, and revise lesson scripts, assessments, learning objects, media descriptions, and support materials
  • Curate and create accessible, copyright-compliant digital content
  • Participate in collaborative team meetings and professional development for personal growth and skill acquisition related to project needs
  • Independently build all course content into the LMS, using AI-assisted workflows where appropriate
  • Apply research-based instructional design, usability, and accessibility best practices throughout the design and development process
  • Attend course planning and design meetings, whether virtual or face-to-face
  • Pay close attention to detail and review all content, including AI output, to ensure accuracy, appropriateness, and legality of content
  • Serve as a student-perspective reviewer to ensure clarity, usability, and engagement
  • Prioritize and adapt to meet required deadlines
  • Abide by all Virtual Arkansas and applicable Arch Ford ESC policies and/or regulations
  • Other duties as assigned
