IF SO, WE HAVE AN EXCITING OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU! Tentamus North America, is seeking a strong Software Developer to assist with the development of our internal laboratory IMS (LIMS). The Software Developer is responsible for designing, coding, testing, and maintaining software applications to meet user needs and business objectives . HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AS A VITAL PART OF OUR TEAM: Under the direction of the Software Development Regional Manager, you will write clean, maintainable, and efficient code based on specifications; Develop applications, scripts, and modules for our LIMS (laboratory information management system) in cooperation with internal customers; and test and deploy applications and systems. Other duties include but are not limited to: Design and develop laboratory software architecture and LIMS while ensuring scalability, performance, and security of the software. Conduct thorough testing of applications to identify bugs and ensure quality and debug and resolve technical issues. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all developed applications; and document code, APIs, and system designs. Perform software updates and enhancements and monitor and maintain existing software applications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, product managers, and other developers and participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback. Work with stakeholders to gather and understand user requirements and translate business needs into technical specifications. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices. Propose and implement improvements to development processes and tools.

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a laboratory or science environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 5 + years proven Software development experience preferred
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, React, Node.js, VBA, SQL, REST/SOAP, API, Groovy, Crystal Reports and an understanding of Git and GitLab
  • Experience with software development frameworks and tools, along with a strong understanding of development principles and design patterns
  • Dynamic, assertive, creative and organized individual
  • Economic and entrepreneurial thinking skills
  • Located near one of our laboratories in Portland, Oregon or Dallas / Fort Worth, Texas
  • Knowledge in requirements analysis, customizing and programming, testing and ticketing systems are an advantage as well as familiarity with database systems and web technologies
