Our work depends on TS/SCI level cleared Software Developer joining our team to support our Intelligence customer in Springfield, VA, St. Louis, MO or Arnold, MO. This position supports the Geospatial Services & Solutions business area to provide high-quality, cost-effective solutions to the customer. As part of the GSS Team the Software Developer’s expertise is needed to support a sophisticated enterprise environment. The Software Developer is an active participant in SAFe and Scrum development teams and meetings. The software developer will be responsible for developing and deploying custom solutions to the customer’s enterprise environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of related software development experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or other business-related field
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Expert with at least one language and desire good experience with several others (Python, React, Java, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of DevSecOps and software/application development processes
  • Experience building and working with container images (Kubernetes, Docker)
  • Experience with utilizing CI/CD tools like GitLab, Jenkins, Nexus
  • Experience with SQL data stores
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively solve technical problems
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a small team
  • Experience with deploying to on prem/data center infrastructure
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence on a daily basis
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required and eligibility to obtain a CI poly

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing containers intended to run on the RedHat Openshift Container Platform
  • Experience with ElasticSearch
  • Front-end development skills (HTML/CSS/Sass/Less/JavaScript)
  • Experience writing infrastructure as code (Helm/Terraform)

Responsibilities

  • Researches, designs, develops, tests, and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software
  • Analyzes user/business software system requirements and determines needs
  • Determine the functionality of an application and performs upgrades over time
  • Maintains documentation to support software development policies, standards, and procedures
  • Establish and Improve system monitoring while maintaining established security protocols within development, test, and production systems
  • Works under the guidance of the Scrum Master to produce accurate delivery estimates and manage the transition from analysis through to design and delivery
  • Provides progress updates to Scrum Master and the team to ensure the management of any delivery risks or concerns
  • Works with the team to plan future sprints, define stories and estimate efforts
  • Works on a range of projects involving the implementation of new and existing systems, solutions, and processes
  • Designs, implements, and maintains application code on various networks
  • Contributes in all phases of the software development life cycle
  • Writes well designed, testable, efficient code
  • Ensures designs are in compliance with specifications
  • Recommends changes to improve established application processes
  • Prepares and produces releases of software components
  • Writes automated unit test cases and evaluation code quality using automated tools
  • Writes automated integration test cases and resolves issues
  • Supports formal testing and resolves test defects
  • Provides technical support and consultation for application and infrastructure questions
  • Aligns to the customer’s strategies
  • Utilizes the customer’s enterprise DevSecOps pipeline
