We are currently looking for a Software Developer for a 100% remote position on a large federal government project supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) SEM IS initiative. This role will help enhance CMOP’s high-volume pharmacy automation systems, modernize legacy components, and support mission-critical software used to process prescriptions nationwide. The work involves close collaboration with analysts, testers, production support teams, and external partners within an Agile, fast-paced, federally regulated environment. The candidate must reside within the continental US.

  • Design, develop, enhance, and maintain software components that support CMOP automation and integration activities.
  • Build secure, scalable applications using .NET technologies, C#, REST APIs, and SQL, while supporting updates and sustainment for legacy components.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver new capabilities and maintain system uptime, compliance, and performance.
  • Participate in Agile development cycles using Azure DevOps, AWS, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, refactor existing code, and conduct code reviews to maintain high code quality.
  • Implement unit testing, maintain documentation throughout the SDLC, and follow secure coding standards in a regulated environment.
  • Support integration activities across Windows, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud environments.
  • Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience, ideally within regulated, healthcare, or federal project environments.
  • Proficiency in C#, .NET (Core, MAUI, Blazor, WPF, WinForms), C++, Python, SQL, and REST API development.
  • Experience working with Azure DevOps, AWS, Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to build, maintain, and troubleshoot distributed systems and cross-platform applications.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in Agile environments.
  • Commitment to producing high-quality, secure, and well-documented software.
  • Experience supporting VA systems or other federal healthcare programs is preferred.
  • Experience with embedded systems, Windows Embedded, Linux, or IoT-enabled platforms is beneficial.
  • Certifications or coursework in AI/ML, cloud, cybersecurity, or Python development are a plus.
