Administration of Economic Programs

Under the supervision of the Director of IT - Application Development, the Software Developer designs, develops, tests, and implements new software solutions to include modifying, upgrading and supporting existing systems. Works with personnel across multiple departments to gather information, analyze process and system requirements and define system objectives. Upholds the values of the GPA to promote Safety, Integrity, Respect, Community, Creativity and Opportunity. Promotes a safe work environment by participating in safety initiatives and reporting unsafe conditions and behaviors.

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain new software applications along with providing enhancements to existing systems.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation for application programs and internal systems.
  • Support and train users by developing documentation and assistance tools as the project is being implemented.
  • Troubleshoot and provide problem solving with assistance and guidance to users on software/application issues.
  • Understand the needs of internal and external customers in order to provide the best solutions.
  • Recommend system solutions by providing comparison of in-house development and off-the-shelf alternatives.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills required.
  • Knowledge of Oracle and SQL Server database, SQL and PL/SQL programming, and Mobile App Development desired.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML Concepts and Implementation desired.
  • The ability to deal effectively and professionally with the GPA staff on all levels as well as customers and the general public required.
  • Experience in developing Web Applications using Java, Groovy, Python, REST, JSP, Servlets, JavaScript and CSS. Required.
  • Experience in Mobile App Development using Flutter and Dart Programming and Mobile App Deployment in iOS and Android Platforms. Preferred.
  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.
  • Preferred Extensive training in computer systems and systems planning.
  • TWIC - Transportation Worker Identification Credential Required Upon Hire.
  • Driver's License - Valid state driver's license Required Upon Hire.
