About the position
BlueSnap is seeking a Software Developer to join their growing global R&D team in Waltham, MA. The role involves designing, developing, and implementing new software programs while maintaining and improving existing software performance. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively to expand the capabilities of BlueSnap's award-winning e-Commerce platform and participate in building next-generation services using state-of-the-art web development frameworks. This position offers a hybrid work schedule and requires a self-driven individual with strong planning, coding, and troubleshooting skills.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and implement new software programs
- Maintain and improve the performance of existing software
- Clearly and regularly communicate with management and technical support colleagues
- Test and maintain software products to ensure strong functionality and optimization
- Recommend improvements to existing software programs as necessary
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
- 3-5 years of professional experience in software development and Java programming
- Proven experience with frameworks like Spring and Hibernate ORM
- Working knowledge of SQL, HTTP/REST, XML, JSON, HTML, JS
- Familiarity with technologies such as Log4j, ActiveMQ, Ehcache, JQuery
- Experience with full-stack development, including both front-end and back-end technologies
- Experience with software optimization and performance tuning
- Ability to take ownership of projects and work independently, while also being a strong team player
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on debugging and troubleshooting complex systems
- Demonstrated understanding of projects from the perspective of both client and business
- Strong attention to details, ability to meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Capable of planning, managing and successfully completing projects
