About The Position

AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Software Developer (Simulation Systems)-Senior to support Advanced Aircraft Research, Development, Test & Evaluation. The Digital Analytics, Infrastructure, and Technology Advancement (DAiTA) Group is at the cutting edge of Advanced Aircraft Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (AARDT&E). Our state-of-the-art laboratories are equipped to work seamlessly together, enabling comprehensive testing and evaluation of aircraft and weapons systems across the Department of Defense. The Integrated Battlespace Simulation and Test (IBST) Department is at the heart of this innovative ecosystem. This team is the driving force behind the research, development, management, design, documentation, fabrication, installation, integration, testing, evaluation, operation, and maintenance of the Air Combat Environment Test Facility (ACETEF) and other DAiTA AARDT&E capabilities, laboratories, and facilities. With IBST at the helm, we're not just preparing for the future but shaping it.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience (at least 3 years within the last 4 years) OR Associate’s Degree with at least 7 years of relevant experience (at least 3 years within the last 5 years)
  • 10 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience programming in C++, C, Python, Qt and OpenGL
  • Experience with distributed simulation, Linux operations and scripting
  • Experience with CMS tools
  • The ability to obtain and maintain SAP and/or SCI access as required
  • Holds final Secret eligibility-The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with GUI development frameworks (Ex. QT or Java Swing)
  • Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and Linux/Unix environments
  • Knowledge of Software Defined Radio (SDR) frameworks
  • Experience acting as a team lead, project manager or principal software architect

Responsibilities

  • Develops software related to closed-loop radar simulators and other electronic warfare (EW) modeling and simulation
  • Develops analytics software to extract data from closed-loop radar simulators to support customer testing objectives
  • Develops software in C++ using Qt
  • Develops and utilizes data analysis scripts using Python or MATLAB to assist customers in getting the data that supports their test objectives
  • Works with SMEs using EWIRDB and other EW models to develop/troubleshoot existing systems
  • Works with SMEs to capture and analyze data
