ASRC Federal's Summer Technology Readiness Intern Development Experience (STRIDE) offers undergraduate college students the chance to apply their technological interests and knowledge to exciting real-world missions. We are seeking a Software Developer Intern to support our NASA government customer in Washington, D.C. This position is mostly remote but there may be opportunities to go on site. This role is a temporary, hybrid position. Work location:  Hybrid (must be flexible to go onsite when needed) NASA HQ in Washington, DC. Local intern candidates preferred.  Relocation assistance, housing, or stipends are not provided. Security: Must be a US Citizen to successfully complete a government issued background investigation to access to customer systems and site (must have lived continuously in the continental United States for the past three years). Summary: This opportunity supports development and test of our NASA client's web application. You will be working with a small team and will be developing web applications using low-code technologies and Java. Interns will work closely with dedicated mentors and managers, fostering meaningful connections within our company while exploring a range of technology disciplines. Additionally, interns will have the opportunity to contribute to research projects developed by our tech experts. While extensive work experience is not required, a commitment to learning and a genuine passion for emerging technological advancements are essential.

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or similar field.
  • Must be a current junior, senior or graduate student in college at the time of application.
  • Exposure to Microsoft PowerApps and Sharepoint
  • Coursework in areas that provide exposure to web development
  • Experience with object-oriented technologies, practices, and languages like Java
  • Understanding of databases
  • Ability to gather client facing requirements and be able to translate them into technical tasks
  • Exposure to Agile and DevSecOps practices and tools
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Ability to work remotely while still being accountable for learning and task management
  • Good written and spoken communication including developing technical documentation
  • Must be a US Citizen to successfully complete a government issued background investigation to access to customer systems and site (must have lived continuously in the continental United States for the past three years).
  • Agile systems and/or bug tracking systems such as Atlassian Jira, Monday, Trello, etc.
  • Basic understanding of version control and code repository management.
