About The Position

A Software Developer is responsible for contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of high-quality software solutions. This role supports a range of diverse and technically challenging projects. Opportunities and responsibilities will expand over time, with increasing technical scope and ownership. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is expected to ensure effective delivery and alignment with business goals. Establish and enforce coding standards and conduct regular code reviews to maintain high quality. Make architectural decisions on individual features. Facilitate team collaboration by leading technical discussions and effectively create consensus and clarity while resolving differing viewpoints among more junior developers. Apply analytical thinking early in the project cycle to guide intentional software design and user experience decisions, preventing issues down the line. Consistently show up prepared, on time, and available to support the team. Take ownership of individual and shared responsibilities, ensuring tasks are completed and team commitments are met. Actively support others and step in when needed to help the team succeed. Provide support to junior developers on technical challenges as needed, mentor them, and can communicate effectively with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Proactively explore new and innovative solutions to enhance existing features and improve user experience. Utilize experience to provide insight into code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve team skills. Support planning and contributing to structuring team development processes, ensuring clear tasks and timelines.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field is required.
5+ years of software development experience, with a strong portfolio of completed projects, is required.
Technical Leadership: Ability to guide architectural decisions and lead technical discussions within the team.
Full Stack Proficiency: Deep understanding of C# and VueJS technologies with front-end and back-end experience.
System Design: Strong skills in designing scalable and maintainable systems and understanding design patterns.
Advanced Testing Skills: Proficiency in unit, integration, and end-to-end testing frameworks.
DevOps Familiarity: Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control practices, as well as knowledge of deployment strategies.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
Proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing English to support professional correspondence and collaboration.
Strong interpersonal and public communication skills to represent Liberty University in a professional manner.
Strong organizational skills.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to assess situations, evaluate information, and solve both routine and complex problems using sound judgment.
Frequently required to perform desk-based work, including computer use and data entry.
Ability to communicate effectively in meetings and collaborative settings, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Proof of a valid driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval, and liability insurance is required when driving in the performance of the employee’s position.
