About The Position

Join our dynamic team as a Software Developer II where you will analyze, design, test, modify and implement software systems designed to support new or existing business initiatives. We are seeking passionate problem solvers with a mastery of PowerBuilder and Oracle, with the ability to work independently. Analytical Functions: Research and document computer users’ requirements until you reach a thorough understanding of the business processes and constraints. Prepare and present possible solutions to problems or enhancements. Translate system requirements for a new or modified computer system, application or network into a set of program specifications. Coordinate the implementation of solutions with the assistance of the development staff. Programming Functions: Translate program specifications into efficient, reliable code. Debug and test computer programs. Research, buy, test and install development software or systems that interact with our software. Develop and modify software to correct errors or to enhance a program’s capabilities. Prepare or modify support documentation for other programmers, users of the system and associated support services personnel. Train individuals on the proper use or new features of the system. Troubleshooting and technical assistance. This is not limited to our software. It may include systems (hardware or software) that interact with our software. Develop and modify database systems to gather, organize, store and categorize information to maximize ease of data retrieval. Supportive Functions: Maintain integrity of data of computer and hard copy files. Use privileged accounts in a responsible manner. Travel to other branch locations for projects and professional development. Such travel may involve overnight stays of one or more nights and may require a minimum driving record as specified in Paulo’s Vehicle Use Policy. Work additional time as necessary during peak periods, special situations, or projects. You may be included in an on-call rotation during non-working time.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS or technical discipline or equivalent work experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
  • At least four years' experience in PowerBuilder and Oracle SQL necessary.
  • Exposure to graphical programming.
  • A logical approach to the solution of problems.
  • Self-reliance and capability for independent work.
  • Willingness to continue to learn as technology changes.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently and effectively.
  • Pass all pre-employment tests.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record in compliance with Paulo’s Vehicle Use Policy.
