Kitware's Medical Computing team is dedicated to addressing complex healthcare challenges through innovative software solutions. As a member of this team, you will engage in a dynamic and multidisciplinary work environment alongside exceptionally talented professionals, including computer scientists, software engineers, mechanical engineers, and biomedical engineers. The team is involved in both research and development, providing technology integration services to various stakeholders in the medical and biomedical sectors, including research centers, universities, and companies. The projects you will work on involve the development of powerful software solutions utilizing well-established open-source platforms such as VTK, ITK, 3D Slicer, Pulse, CMake, and ParaView. These platforms are mature, well-supported, documented, and thoroughly tested, serving tens of thousands of developers and end-users globally. Your role will encompass generating solutions for medical device companies, which may include ultrasound and preclinical imaging companies, as well as surgical device manufacturers. Additionally, you will collaborate on research projects with leading institutions like Harvard Medical School, MIT, Cleveland Clinic, and Duke University, leveraging our open-source platforms to advance medical imaging technologies. In this position, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing medical image data analysis and visualization software applications across various computing environments, including Windows, Unix, macOS, mobile, and web platforms. You will work closely with academic and research collaborators to create software solutions for clinical studies, engage with commercial customers for application testing and verification, and generate necessary documentation for user support and regulatory compliance.
