VGI, a GRVTY Company, is seeking a Software Developer/Engineer to join our team. In this role you will perform as an individual contributor and team member focused on developing and refining a command-and-control platform used by a wide variety of stakeholders. Soliciting and incorporating user feedback is paramount in developing a superior product. Ideal candidates will have full-stack development experience, with demonstrated skills developing front-end applications and user interfaces, as well as employing back-end programming languages.

  • Develop applications, tools, and user interfaces for data processing systems
  • Work with internal and external development teams and engineers to define interface control documents and subsystem behaviors
  • Develop large scale data analysis pipelines and processes using tools such as Spark, OpenSearch/ElasticSearch
  • Participate in merge reviews and collaborate with peers on optimization of code
  • Contribute to front-end and back-end development processes
  • Build new product features or APIs
  • Perform tests, troubleshoot software, and fix bugs
  • 3-5 years of experience performing software engineering or development
  • Demonstrated experience programming in C/C++, Java, or Python
  • Understanding of the full software development lifecycle
  • Experience with front-end development and back-end programming languages
  • Recent and relevant experience developing applications or analysis tools
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field
  • Security Clearance: TS/SCI w/poly preferred (active clearance is a plus; must be eligible and willing to obtain a security clearance to be considered for this position)
  • UI/UX design
  • Experience building React and Django web applications
  • Knowledge and experience with OpenSearch/ElasticSearch
  • Understanding of Apache Spark or similar tools for executing data engineering tasks
  • Demonstrated experience reverse engineering applications and/or network protocols
  • Experience programming distributed systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, ZeroMQ)
  • Proficiency with containerization technologies (Docker and/or Kubernetes)
  • Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases (MySQL, Postgres, SQLite, Elasticsearch, InfluxDB, MongoDB, etc.)
