About The Position

At Leidos' High Fidelity Simulation Business Area, we’re not just building systems—we’re revolutionizing the future of naval simulation, training, and analysis for the US Navy. Imagine being part of a team where your work directly redefines naval capabilities. You will get to work with state-of-the art technology developing the most sophisticated and “game changing” trainers the US Navy deploys, systems such as CIAT - Combined Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) and Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Trainer - YouTube . You will be part of a high-powered team, performing vital work that has a major impact within the US Navy. You will be constantly learning new skills throughout your co-op employment and your work will be included in trainer deliveries and used by US Navy Fleet personnel. The hallmark of Leidos is empowered employees doing meaningful work. Leidos is seeking energetic, motivated, self-starters for these technically sophisticated and challenging software developer positions. Software Developer Co-ops may develop system software, numerical models, or back-end development. All software is developed and executed in a Linux environment and written primarily in C++. All work is directly applicable to actual military training systems. Co-op students will gain invaluable, real-world experience on state-of-the-art computer-based systems. This co-op rotation will start in May 2026 and conclude in December 2026. Subsequent co-op rotations are available for those who require multiple co-op experiences. At Leidos, we don’t want someone who "fits the mold"—we want someone who melts it down and builds something better. This is a role for the restless, the over-caffeinated, the ones who ask, “what’s next?” before the dust settles on “what’s now.” If you’re already scheming step 20 while everyone else is still debating step 2… good. You’ll fit right in.
