About The Position

Peraton is hiring a Software Developer and Architect. This role will be located on-site in Huntsville, AL. This is a key member of the Software Development that develops, codes, tests, and evaluates software products as well as understands software architecture across various Aircraft Survivability Equipment(ASE) products. What you'll do: Work as a member of the ASE SW development team to design, code and test SW (tools, libraries, applications) Review SW related deliveries from vendors, emphasizing knowledge of the SW development life-cycle artifacts Be able to support multiple concurrent development efforts at different stages of SW life-cycle Collaborate with other SW team members on competing priorities as well as provide status to leadership Understand how system level changes can impact SW performance, design, or testability Understand SW development methodologies, road-maps, and planning Provide guidance on FACE, MOSA, and/or other DoD SW architectures Understand portability of applications, conformance, and layered SW development approaches Support ASE product offices to provide knowledge and evaluation criteria on vendor proposed architectures; help with understanding impacts of design

Requirements

  • 5 years with BS/BA, 3 years with MS/MA, or 9 years of experience in lieu of a degree
  • Active Secret clearance
  • 2 years hands on experience with one or more of the following: C, C++, Ada, Python
  • Be able to read and understand technical documents, drawings, and capable of balancing multiple tasks and priorities
  • Understand system software interfaces, requirements, and inter-operating with other systems
  • Experience with embedded programing languages and be fluent in the Microsoft Office tool-set
  • Knowledge of SW architecture and development methodology

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a DoD acquisition project management office
