Where Hard Stuff is Done Right!HII Unmanned Systems (HII UxS) is seeking n software developer to join our autonomy engineering team! In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing new control system software for unmanned systems. You will be actively engaged in fusing this software with an existing advanced common operating picture capability to provide an optimized naval mission management tool, and in doing so will perform the following duties: • Demonstrate the ability to be creative and innovative by designing, developing, and maintaining solutions for complex, multi-domain, and heterogenous autonomy fleet control challenges• Document software development requirements, design, and implementation.• Effectively communicate findings, problems, and solutions to functional, project teams, as well as external customers.• Coordinate with system, firmware, hardware and other engineering teams to implement the highest quality software solution.• Participate in all phases of product development as needed such as reviewing requirements, design, usability, risk assessment and defects.• Follow software development process and best practices.What you will be doing..Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.
