About The Position

The Sponsored Products and Brands team at Amazon Ads is re-imagining the advertising landscape through generative AI technologies, aiming to revolutionize how millions of customers discover products and engage with brands across Amazon.com and beyond. They are focused on re-inventing advertising experiences by bridging human creativity with artificial intelligence across the entire advertising lifecycle, from ad creation and optimization to performance analysis and customer insights. The team is dedicated to developing responsible and intelligent AI technologies that balance advertiser needs, enhance the shopping experience, and strengthen the marketplace. The Conversational Ad Experiences (CAX) team within Sponsored Products and Brands (SPB) helps merchants, retail vendors, and brand owners grow incremental sales on Amazon through native product advertising. The CAX team specifically focuses on sponsored conversational shopping experiences powered by large language models (LLMs). This team is working on multiple 'industry first' projects that are ambiguous and challenging, offering a significant impact on shoppers and business. As an engineer on this team, you will drive major product and engineering initiatives, build large-scale, low-latency distributed systems, and develop ML infrastructure and data processing pipelines. You will partner with the science team to implement LLM models in production and contribute to LLMOps, being responsible for designing, building, and operating key customer-facing functionality impacting hundreds of millions of Amazon shoppers worldwide.

Requirements

  • Passionate about Generative AI, Large Language Models, and their real-world applications
  • Strong software engineering skills
  • Creative problem-solver who thrives in ambiguity and loves tackling complex challenges
  • Track record of delivering innovative solutions that drive business impact
  • Enthusiasm for staying current with the rapidly evolving AI landscape
  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
