Amazon LEO is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Amazon LEO will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity. As a software engineer for antenna systems, you will collaborate with systems architects, hardware engineering design teams & FW/SW design teams to bring up and test systems combining FPGA, firmware, RF, and networking functions and build advanced tools for the following: - Characterizing subsystems and systems related to antennas - Complex data storage - Hardware test automation - Firmware design and implementation - Application development - Design automation for 2D and 3D structures - Develop bring up tools and scripts for phased array systems

  • Gathering requirements, designing, implementing, integrating, testing, and launching high-quality, large-scale distributed software systems that solve significant customer problems
  • Developing the best customer experience, keeping latency, security, and usability in mind
  • Working across a broad range of AWS technologies to build advanced tools, distributed systems software and automation workflows
  • Developing solutions that scale across a broad range
  • Collaborating with a diverse range of cross-functional roles - systems architects, hardware engineering design teams & FW/SW design teams
  • Promoting a culture of engineering excellence by establishing best practices and technical standards across the organization
  • Leading and mentoring other talented engineers
  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
