Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
• 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C#, Golang OR equivalent experience.
• 2+ years experience in site-reliability engineering/DRI practices to manage, support and debug production service.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
• 2+ years experience in building, shipping and operating reliable, distributed systems software.
• Ability to learn and grasp concepts quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Problem-solving skills and drive for results.
• Self-starter, who proactively identifies problems and drives for resolution.
• Experience with containers, Kubernetes, Helm charts.
• Experience with Micro services development.
• Experience with building automated regression pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the Azure Local product vision.
• Create and implement code for features, reusing code as applicable.
• Consider diagnosability, reliability, and maintainability with few defects, and understand when the code is ready to be shared and delivered.
• Apply coding patterns and best practices to write code.
• Review code of feature development to assure it meets the team's and Microsoft's quality standards.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure coding standards are followed.
• Build knowledge, share new ideas, and identify engineering tool gaps to improve software developer tools.
• Contribute to the development of automation within production and deployment of complex product features.
• Run code in simulated or non-production environments to confirm functionality and error-free runtime.
• Maintain communication with key partners across the Microsoft ecosystem of engineers.
• Identify areas to integrate instrumentation for gathering telemetry data on system behavior.
• Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) monitoring service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions.

Benefits

• Base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year.
• Different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
• Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
