The position involves monitoring and verifying the flow of information from various external sources to the final data repository. The individual will field data-related questions and issues, collate, investigate, and resolve questions. Responsibilities include coordinating Ad Hoc and standard reports using the Ellucian Banner Oracle database, designing, developing, and maintaining LECOM internal pages and applications, and implementing and maintaining web-based applications using React, C#, and Java for faculty, staff, and students.

  • Reviews data input, updates and usage for existing and new database tables
  • Maintain a log of issues encountered and their resolution
  • Develops and maintains relevant reporting and reconciliation processes used to monitor key data processes
  • Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation managing after-hours support requests through the ticketing system
  • Availability nights or weekends as needed to deploy applications during off-peak hours
  • Utilizes SQL queries, custom applications, reporting tools, constraints, and other applications to ensure data integrity
  • Update, maintain and revise LECOM portal pages
  • Maintain integrity and security on LECOM portal applications
  • Develops and deploys new portal applications
  • Creating new programs or scripts capable of reading and validating data from various sources for importing to a database
  • Creating new applications that act as self-serving interactive interfaces for various stakeholders
  • Maintain applications, including conversion of older technologies to new ones and troubleshooting problems
  • Maintain, Monitor and Develop API clients in multiple environments
  • Training interns or other department members on internal practices and standards
  • Write requirements and design documents for all new applications
  • Contribute and be responsible for overall student success
  • Participate in scholarly activity to enrich the student learning experience
  • Commit to being a representative of LECOM by being actively involved in the community
  • Other duties as required to maintain an efficient and effective Department
  • Must have excellent writing, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to navigate, configure, and utilize RHEL servers
  • Experience utilizing Jenkins to deploy software in a RHEL environment
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Must have the ability to build and maintain applications in at least three of the following languages: C#, React, Java, Rust, and Python
  • Must possess the ability to work with multiple API types including SOAP, REST, and GraphQL
  • Ability to gather business requirements for the conversion of manual processes to automated processes
  • Ability to troubleshoot using self-created test cases and train custom applications for faculty and staff
  • Must have the ability to program and query relational databases in at least two of the following RDBMS: MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL, Postgres, and NoSQL
  • Must have the ability to work across multiple IDEs including SSMS, Visual Studio, SQL Developer, SQL Plus, Postman, Insomnia, etc.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changes in technologies
  • Strong communications skills and computer literacy for the MS Office Suite
