HFIR is undergoing major plant control systems upgrades over the next 10 years to replace ageing and obsolescence systems, components, and equipment to support long term operations. The augmented staff will be matrixed to HFIR Nuclear Instrumentation & Controls Engineering Group of the Systems Engineering Section within the RRD. This group also provides technical support to operations, and maintenance, and performs systems analysis. This position will be responsible for the design, development, implementation of the division’s software-based Industrial Control Systems (ICS) throughout the entire system development life cycle, including configuration control, software quality assurance, and cyber security. This position may require a RAD Worker II training and may impose a Workplace Substance Abuse Program (WSAP) testing designated position which requires passing a pre-placement drug test and participation in an ongoing random drug testing program in which employees are subject to being randomly selected for testing and undergoing testing without advance notification.
