About The Position

This role is for an Electric Drive Controls Engineer within the Electric Propulsion Conversion Controls development ART. In this role, the candidate will create, develop, simulate, verify, and implement advanced motor control algorithms to be used in electric drive propulsion applications. This role is growing in response to the dramatic growth of battery electric and hybrid vehicle markets as well as GM's expanding Electrification portfolio. In this role you must have a passion for electrification and a desire to become an integral part of our exciting new corporate vision: Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions, and Zero Congestion. Design goals for the Electric Drive Controls Engineer include creating and developing control algorithms that meet the following constraints: Accurate, high-bandwidth torque production from an electric motor, Maximize hardware capability, Minimize electric drive losses, High quality voltage synthesis, Robustness to parameter variation and changes in operating conditions, Optimize electric drive NVH, Robust diagnostic coverage, Flexibility through calibration.
