About The Position

Quarterhill is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Software Configuration Specialist to join our team. This role is critical in designing and implementing automated build processes that enhance the quality and reliability of our software deliverables. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software configuration, continuous integration, and deployment strategies, and will thrive in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in software configuration.
  • Strong understanding of Oracle database administration, programming, and scripting.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with version control and build tools such as ClearCase, CVS, ANT, Maven, Hudson/Jenkins.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Perl.
  • Prior experience leading or working within cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement automated build processes to improve software quality and delivery speed.
  • Collaborate with development teams to determine and fulfill build requirements, resolving build issues promptly.
  • Define and implement standardized software configuration procedures and tools.
  • Manage the Continuous Integration (CI) process across development, testing, QA, and production environments.
  • Onboard new projects into the CI/CD pipeline in partnership with development and product teams.
  • Build and maintain deployment and monitoring tools in collaboration with development and operations teams.
  • Develop and enforce branch and merge strategies to support scalable development workflows.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance CI/CD pipeline tools and processes.
  • Support the deployment of hotfixes and new platform features.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance for assigned shifts.
