About The Position

You will be the Software Configuration Management (SCM) Engineer for the Long Range Anti Ship Missile (LRASM) / Joint Air to Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM) Program. Our team safeguards the integrity of every software baseline, drives configuration status accounting, and ensures flawless release and data management across both internal and COTS software assets. As the SCM Engineer you will be responsible for planning, executing, and continuously improving all SCM activities that keep the LRASM/JASSM programs on schedule and compliant with customer and audit requirements. You’ll partner with software developers, engineers, quality, and production teams while employing Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Git. Requirements

  • Experienced with software configuration management and Agile processes and tools.
  • Ability to design, implement, and manage a software development control environment utilizing SCM best practices.
  • Knowledge in SW Engineering Boards, document release, and CDRLs/SDRLs processing
  • Familiarity with markings, formatting and handling of documentation
  • Self-starter with software configuration management or software engineering background.
  • Possess good computer skills, including knowledge of MS office Software and other software applications.
  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Bachelors or Master's Degree from an accredited university (preferably in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or Computer Information Technology degree or related discipline). Additional years of experience in lieu of degree can be considered.
  • Experience working with Excel and databases for data entry, tracking and reporting information.
  • Active secret security clearance w/5 year investigation

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with DD250 process, scripting skills, GIT Lab & JIRA tools knowledge.
  • Knowledge of branching strategies.
  • Experience in Windows & UNIX environments.
  • Experience in writing technical documentation.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Git, GitLab/GitHub, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Define, enforce, and evolve program specific software configuration standards and policies.
  • Manage software builds across multiple baselines, troubleshooting and resolving build issues swiftly.
  • Maintain the Software Configuration Management System: collect/distribute code, process change requests, generate build documentation, and deliver software to operational environments.
  • Analyze proposed software changes for impact on system performance, logistics, and customer commitments.
  • Prepare and present change effect reports; coordinate change orders and authorizations with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and subcontractors.
  • Participate in Change Control Boards, ensuring rigorous change management practices throughout the program life cycle.
  • Develop, automate, and maintain productivity tools (scripts, databases) that streamline configuration identification, control, and reporting.
  • Train and mentor developers on SCM tools and software quality standards.
  • Support production and development contracts, guaranteeing compliance with new security regulations and audit expectations.
  • Interface regularly with internal stakeholders and external customers, acting as the SCM subject matter expert.
